A Photo Contest of a Different Sort: Rate My Rat

This item was filled under [ Contests & Promotions, News ]

Anyone who has visited the Big Apple and has taken advantage of NYC’s extensive and speedy subway system knows that there are things that live under the city. Creepy crawly things. Rats, to be precise. Lots of them. And, as the system falls into further disrepair and levels of cleanliness,  said rodents are getting more brazen.

Transport Workers Union Local 100, the city’s largest transit union, has started a campaign aimed at calling attention to the problem… and to urge the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) to do more in the way of keeping the vermin to a minimum.

Enter – Rate my Rat – a very different kind of photo contest. Commuters are being invited to upload their best (or worst, as the case may be) rat photos (and to vote on others) for a chance to win a free unlimited MetroCard.

And, while the subject matter of this contest may not be the loveliest, it certainly is colourful! Have a look at the submissions so far (provided you’re not too squeamish!) and vote on your favourite.
