Louis Helbig is A) a photographer and B) a pilot, and he manages to combine both talents to produce outstanding aerial photography. “Beautiful Destruction” his collection of aerial photos of the Alberta Tar Sands is showing at Toronto’s Theatre Passe Muraille (16 Ryerson Ave, just N of Queen St W), February 24 and 25. Another Helbig collection, “Aerial Abstractions” continues until March 15th at Exposure Gallery in Ottawa.
